First of all you need to activate the Meals module, head to Event settings.

  • Then click on Core settings

  • Scroll down and then find the section Optional Features

  • Tick the box called Enable meals

  • Now go back to your menu and refresh the page.

  • You’ll now see the word Meals has appeared on your Menu. Click on that

1.Adding a Canteen

You'll need to start by adding a Canteen, choose that menu item.

Click on +add canteen

  • A window will appear. Fill in the details. The name of your canteen, date and time it will open and close. The open and close dates will determine which days you can specify meals on.

  • If you set up multiple canteens, the initial you set will be what you use to differentiate between canteens when allocating meals in the grid format.

  • Then enter the default quantity of covers per sitting. This number is the limit for how many meals can be allocated per sitting. The default will populate across all dates that a canteen is open, but you can change these at any time.

  • Now click Add

Perfect, you've created a canteen!

2.Meal Types

If you now click on meal types you will see Eventree has automatically created a series of suggested sittings and when they will be served i.e. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. You can also add more meal types if you wish.

  • If you wish to edit the times of each serving, just click on the edit button and change appropriately. The time set on each meal determines the order in which they appear in the meals grid.

  • You can also enter the cost of each meal type which means after your event you can analyse the total cost of meals provided using the Detailed Distribution Report

  • If you serve different meals to the ones automatically created, you can either Edit them or add new ones

3.Canteen Limits

Ok, so we’ve created our canteen and our meal types. Now we need to set the maximum number of covers for each sitting in our canteen on a daily basis. So click on

  • Canteen Limits

  • Eventree will ask if you’d like it to automatically create meal tickets for the canteen’s open dates. Click yes

  • Don’t worry you can always edit the numbers afterwards.

  • As you can see a grid has appeared displaying which dates the canteen is open, with the quantity of covers per meal type. If you’re happy with your canteen scroll down and click on Save

  • However, if you want to edit any of the numbers, just click on the individual sections and alter accordingly.

  • Then, once again click Save

And that’s it! Our canteen is now up and ready to serve on a daily basis.
