We have the ability to set up barcodes to send out in two ways:
Option A) One barcode sent for each pass assigned in eventree
Option B) One barcode sent per e-ticket email
Option A:
-In eventree, you can assign multiple pass types to one person, eg B&B wristband, crew wristband, parking pass. These each have a unique barcode number linked to them.
-When passes are sent out to passholders, their email looks like the below screenshot. A barcode pdf is generated for every single pass they have been assigned. Any of these passes can then be scanned on arrival and will bring up all other passes under that person’s name (if they are using the single scan screen mode).
-Meal redemption: By default, any of the passes assigned to a person can be scanned in order to redeem their meals. You can restrict which passes can be redeemed by changing the settings on your canteen laptop.
Option B:
You can change this in Core settings
-In eventree, you can assign multiple pass types to one person, eg B&B wristband, crew wristband, parking pass. These each have a unique barcode number linked to them.
-When passes are sent out to passholders, their email looks like the below screenshot. A barcode pdf is generated for whichever the first pass in the list is. This pass can then be scanned on arrival and will bring up all other passes under that person’s name. The order the passes appear in the list, is based on the order of your pass categories.
-Meals: Each person will only be given one barcode, so you’ll need to make sure that meals are redeemable from various different entry passes.
Option b: things to bear in mind
The barcode pdf is generated for whichever the first pass in the list is. The order of passes in the pass email is determined by the order of the pass categories on an event.
Therefore if you have Inductions set up on your event, you will need to ensure that any passes with inductions linked are in the top category/categories, so that the inductions load. You can order pass categories by putting numbers at the front of their names.
If an event has more than one induction, and any one person has to do both inductions, then option b will not work for that event.
It would also make most sense to have People passes in the 2nd category, for anyone who doesn’t receive an induction, and therefore the pdf they receive will be a ‘people’ pass.
If you have barcode artwork set up, bear in mind that the artwork for the first pass in the list is the one that will be generated in the pass email.
This setting is only compatible with events that are only using cloud gates/gate laptops for checking in crew. If they’re using CT50s for crew, this won’t work, because crew members will only receive one of their QR codes.
