Often inductions will be sent from Eventree in the pass email and completed by each individual before they arrive on site. If someone arrives on site without completing their induction they can complete it by clicking through their pass email. You can read more about this process here.

If you need crew who haven't been added into Eventree to complete an induction - whether in advance or when they arrive on site - you can use the Induction via link feature.

Induction via link means that you can take the same induction that is sent out with people's passes and generate a public link for it. The link takes crew to the induction and when they have completed it they are added to Eventree.

Once someone completes the induction in this way the following actions can be automatically taken by Eventree:

When someone completes the induction via the link you have a choice about what happens next:

Automatically add individual into a specified area

Whoever completes the induction will be automatically added as an individual in an area of your choosing.

If you select this you'll see a few more options:

Destination area/sub-area:

This is the area or sub-area that the person automatically gets added to:

Allocate pass(es) on completion:

Choose this to allocate one or more passes to them when they're added:

And tick this box to send their pass(es) out automatically:

Leave completed induction in pending

This option is only available if you have added data capture to your induction.

If you select this then anyone who submits this induction via the link will sit in Pending under Submitted data capture and they will not be automatically added into your event.

You can later choose to Approve pending submissions and assign them passes at that point.

When someone completes the induction via link they'll see a message on screen that by default says "Thanks for completing your induction".

You can customise this wording with some more information such as letting the person know what they need to do next.

Once you've enabled and configured your induction to be used via a link, you can then share the link. Eventree will generate a default link but you can customise the end of this link to make it more suitable for your event, or harder to guess.

Simply edit the wording in the URL Ending field and whatever you type will be added to the end of your induction url instead of just the induction name.

Now all you have to do is share the link with people you want to complete an induction in this way!
